Why these maps are our best sellers
We've been making push pin maps since 2012, and the same handful of designs keep ending up on the most walls. Here's what they have in common.
Pins go in and stay put
Foamboard sits right behind the canvas, so each pin goes in cleanly and holds firmly for years.
Designs that fit almost any room
Blue Oceans, Earth Toned, Executive and Signature World are the maps customers come back to most, in colors that work with the furniture you already own.
Your names on the map
Add names, a date or a favorite quote, plus a pin legend, printed on the canvas at no charge.
Best selling travel map questions
What is the best push pin travel map?
It comes down to where you travel. If your trips cross oceans, start with a world map. Blue Oceans, Earth Toned, Executive World and Signature World are the designs customers pick most, and each one comes framed, gallery wrapped or as a three panel set. If you're working through the 50 states, a USA map gives every state room for pins, and Earth Toned USA and Blue Oceans USA are the favorites there. Everything on this page is here because people keep choosing it.
Is there a map that lets me pin the places I've traveled?
Yes, that's exactly what these are built for. Each map is printed on canvas, stretched over a wood frame and backed with foamboard, so a pin slides in cleanly and stays where you put it. A paper map or poster tacked to the wall won't hold pins for long, but a canvas map will take years of pinning. Every framed, gallery wrapped and three panel map comes with 150 pins in red, white and black, and you'll find more colors and shapes in our map pins.
Should I get a world map or a USA map?
Pick the map that matches the trips you take most. A world map suits international travelers and couples who want to pin a honeymoon in Italy next to a work trip to Tokyo. A USA map is the better choice for road trippers, national park chasers and anyone counting states. Both come in the same sizes and formats, and plenty of customers end up with one of each. If you can't decide, the world map is the one we'd hang first.
Framed, gallery wrapped or three panel: which should I choose?
All three start as the same canvas print. A framed map sits inside a float frame in black, brown, natural or white, with silver or gold on most designs, and looks finished the moment it's on the wall. Gallery wrapped skips the frame and wraps the map around the edges for a clean, modern look at a lower price. A three panel map spreads the same design across three canvases, which suits a long wall or a family that pins a lot.
What size travel map should I get?
Gallery wrapped maps come in 24 x 36, 30 x 45 and 34 x 51 inches. Framed maps measure 26 x 38, 32 x 47 and 36 x 53 with the float frame, rounded up to the nearest inch. The smallest size suits an office or hallway. Above a sofa or bed, most people are happier one size up, and small countries and the New England states are easier to pin on a bigger map. Our sizing guide walks through it wall by wall.
Is a push pin travel map a good gift?
For anyone who loves to travel, it's a gift they'll keep adding to for years. We see them given for weddings, anniversaries, graduations and retirements, and the designs on this page are the safe picks when you don't know someone's taste. Personalization is free, so you can add their names and a date before it ships. If you're ordering for a holiday or a set date, check the current processing times in our FAQ first, since every map is made to order.
