That way if something unexpected were to happen, they can easily figure out where to find you based on your itinerary. It also creates some peace of mind knowing that a loved one knows where you are while traveling alone. Sending occasional quick updates to family or friends via email, text or social media is also a great idea to keep them in the loop.
